Pricing questions
Why a deposit instead of a cheaper box?
Each Senior Streamers box is a capable small computer, and costs about $400 to build. Instead of selling it, we hold a refundable deposit. When a box comes back in good working order, you get the full $400 back, and we refurbish the box for its next home.
Is there a contract?
Each room has a 12-month agreement that renews automatically, with no cancellation fee. Compare that with the three-year minimum and early-cancellation fee on DIRECTV's senior living plans. The free 30-day trial comes first, with no commitment.
Can we add or remove rooms?
Yes, at any time. Each room is its own agreement, so you add a room when a resident moves in and end one when a room is empty. The $400 deposit is refunded for each box returned in good working order.
Who pays: the community or the resident?
Either. Some communities include TV in the rent, and some charge residents a monthly TV fee. Senior Streamers is priced per room, so it works with both.
Does the $40 include the channels and the classic library?
Yes. Live channels, the Golden Oldies library, video calls and family messages are all included. There are no channel packages or add-on fees.
What do we need to provide?
A TV with an HDMI input in each room, a power outlet, and internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. See Setup & IT for network planning.
