For many residents, a show from their childhood or early family years is more than entertainment. It is a familiar voice, a shared memory, and an easy conversation with a visitor. That is why we built the library around shows people remember.
Videos stored on the box, and calm scenery all day
Local VOD holds videos stored right on the Senior Streamers box, like a cozy fireplace scene. For calm moments there are also live scenery channels: Fireplace Vibes, Ocean Vibes, Rainy Day Vibes, Stingray Naturescape and more. Both are easy to add to a playlist for quiet afternoons or evenings.
The resident's own videos
My Videos holds the resident's private collection: videos family send from their phones, links to videos on YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive, and video messages the resident records with the TV camera. Each one shows who sent it and when. There is room for about eight hours of video on the box.
Mix and match anything, then put it on a schedule
A playlist can hold live channels, relaxing videos, Golden Oldies episodes or whole series, the resident's own videos, and even other playlists. The Video Scheduler then plays it at the times you choose.
Ideas activity teams use
- Good morning: the weather on Fox Weather, two episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show, then a video from the grandchildren
- Sunday worship: a service on Daystar or BYUtv, followed by gentle music
- Quiet afternoon: Ocean Vibes or Stingray Naturescape, then The Bob Ross Channel
- Western night in the common room: Wagon Train, then Have Gun – Will Travel
Add a whole series in one step, set the order, and the Scheduler handles the rest. TV Hours can also turn the TV on and off at set times each day.
Recommendations that fit the person
During setup, staff choose a few things the resident enjoys, like classic movies, game shows or gardening. Senior Streamers combines those interests with what the resident actually watches, the time of day and upcoming holidays, and suggests shows from every source: live channels, Golden Oldies and more.
